How to Commute to Greenhills from Alabang

Start Point: Alabang Starmall-Metropolis
Go to Route Index
List of PUV Terminals

Option 1:

Use this route if there's not much traffic along EDSA (e.g. Sundays) or you don't want to change rides too much and have enough lead time.

Route used: Skyway (SLEX) > Magallanes interchange > EDSA > Robinson's Galleria > Ortigas Ave.

1. At Starmall, ride the "B"-marked bus with the "Ortigas Ilalim" placard.

Caution: In rare cases, a "B"-marked bus will have the "Ortigas Flyover" placard which means the bus will bypass Robinson's Galleria. So pay attention to what the placard says.

2. Get off at Robinson's Galleria. For comfort, if the mall is already open then go through Robinson's Galleria and exit the mall on the side facing Ortigas Avenue. It's easier if you pass through the food court and exit near where the Chowking and Handyman are located.
3. After exiting Robinson's Galleria, cross Ortigas Avenue (via the pedestrian crossing underneath the flyover) and get on any jeep or bus with placards "San Juan / Greenhills", "SM Sta. Mesa", "Quiapo" and so forth.

Note: Some jeeps and buses park on the side and wait until they are almost full before leaving. So if you have a choice, wait for passing jeeps that just drop off passengers to decrease your waiting time.

4. Tell the driver to drop you off at Virramall (right side of the road).

Option 2:

This route costs slightly more but is useful for avoiding traffic at EDSA and/or Ortigas Ave.

Route used: Skyway (SLEX) > Magallanes interchange > MRT-3 > Annapolis St.

1. At Starmall, ride the "A"-marked bus if you want to ride the MRT at the Magallanes station, or the "B"-marked bus if you want to get on the MRT at Ayala station.

The difference is that at Magallanes station you avoid EDSA traffic as soon as the bus gets off the SLEX, but it's at least a 200 meter walk to the station from the bus stop (plus a climb up the stairs if the escalator isn't working and Alphaland mall isn't open yet). At Ayala station, the bus stop is just a few meters from the stairs going up, so it's less tiring although if it's heavy traffic along EDSA and Pasay Road intersection, your trip will be delayed by at least that much.

2. Whatever MRT station you get on to, ride the northbound train (headed to North Avenue station) and get off at Santolan station.
3. Once you exit Santolan station, use the pedestrian overpass to cross EDSA (the overpass is located above the station). At the other side, if the elevator is working you can use that to get to ground level.
4. Once at EDSA, start walking southbound (towards Ortigas) and then turn right at Annapolis St. There's a jeepney terminal just a few meters from the corner.
5. The jeep will enter Virramall so you can get off at the mall itself.
